LONDON: Wealthy Pakistani asylum seekers with £250,000 in savings who claimed asylum in Britain before taking £40,000-a-year in benefits have been jailed six months apart to prevent their children going into care. Syed Zaidi, 41, and wife Rizwana Kamal, 40, claimed they were being persecuted in their Pakistan homeland. Mardan lynching survivor rejects allegations, blames university administration

PESHAWAR: Abdullah, who was also assaulted by the same mob that had lynched Abdul Wali Khan University student Mashal Khan, stated that the deceased was also a devoted Muslim like him, in his written statement to the court on Monday. Abdullah, a student of Abdul Wali Khan and friend of Mashal who was also assaulted by the mob before he was rescued by the police, claimed that Mashal Khan was a devoted Muslim like him. Abdullah disclosed that when he went to the Journalism Department of the university on April 13, a particular group put forth accusations of blasphemy against him. "I rejected their allegations against me and recited the  kalima  and also read it with translation," he said. RAW officer Kulbhushan Yadav ISLAMABAD: Indian secret service agent, Kulbhushan Yadav, has been awarded death sentence today, Pakistan Army’s public affairs department said on Monday. According to the statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Indian RAW Agent 1 Naval officer 415582 Commander Kulbhushan Sudhir Jadhav alias Hussein Mubarak Patel was arrested on March 3, 2016 through a Counter Intelligence Operation from Mashkel, Balochistan, for his involvement in espionage and sabotage activities against Pakistan. The spy has been tried through Field General Court Martial (FGCM) under Pakistan Army Act (PAA) and awarded death sentence, the statement said.
