ONLINE NEWS MQM leader Saleem Shahzad arrested at airport as he reaches Karachi OMER MIRZA KARACHI: Putting an end to his self-imposed exile, Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) leader Saleem Shahzad returned to Pakistan on Monday morning. However, he has been arrested at Karachi airport. He would be shifted to Airport police station, police said after confirming his arrest. It should be mentioned here that Shahzad is involved mainly in a case regarding the medical treatment of terrorists. SSP Malir Rao Anwar arrested the political figure and talking to the media, police officials said there are a number of other cases lodged against the MQM leader. Indian filmmaker faces protest at Karachi airport KARACHI: Citizens at Karachi airport surrounded famous Bollywood director Kabir Khan, protesting against his anti-Pakistan movies, Samaa reported Wednesday. The Indian filmmaker, who is director of "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" and "Phantom" movies, flew into Karachi on Tuesday to attend a conference. Kabir Kahn reached Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport today to fly for Lahore when a handful of people surrounded him, chanting slogan against the director. “Muslims are massacred in India but you don’t make films on it, why don’t you make movies on RAW,” one male voice is heard saying in the footage, amid chants of “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Shame Shame.” Visibly calm, Kabir Khan maintained silence and headed to the airport's arrival lounge. Two Die as PIA Workers Clash with Police, Rangers K ARACHI: Two protesting workers of Pakistan International Airline (PIA) lost their lives and at least 18 others were injured during a clash with Rangers and police at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, Samaa reported. Water canon was used to disperse the employees who are protesting against proposed privatization of PIA. Reports said Rangers resorted to baton charge and fired teargas shells after stone-pelting by infuriated workers, leaving dozens of them injured.
