MQM leader Saleem Shahzad arrested at airport as he reaches Karachi

KARACHI: Putting an end to his self-imposed exile, Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) leader Saleem Shahzad returned to Pakistan on Monday morning. However, he has been arrested at Karachi airport.
He would be shifted to Airport police station, police said after confirming his arrest. It should be mentioned here that Shahzad is involved mainly in a case regarding the medical treatment of terrorists.
SSP Malir Rao Anwar arrested the political figure and talking to the media, police officials said there are a number of other cases lodged against the MQM leader.
The immigration officials confiscated his passport at Karachi airport.
The self-exiled politician who arrived here from Dubai after half-an hour flight of a private airliner, was received by his family members and relatives at Karachi airport this morning.
