Waseem Akhtar Makes Confessions


KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader and Karachi Mayor-designate Waseem Akhtar made confessions of unarming police as part of conspiracy on May 12, 2007, the day Karachi witnessed a series of violent clashes between rival political activists on arrival of the then deposed Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Samaa reported.

Samaa obtained remand details of Waseem Akhtar presented before the court. According to details, the MQM leader, who was Sindh Home Minister in 2007, also confessed that he had directed shooting on people gathered to receive Iftikhar Chaudhry outside Karachi airport.
