Pakistan’s Oldest Test Cricketer Israr Dies at 88 ISLAMABAD: Former all-rounder Israr Ali, who was a member of Pakistan’s first Test team that played against India in 1952-53, died in his hometown of Okara on February 1 at the age o f 88. Israr was Pakistan’s oldest living Test cricketer and had played four Tests for the country between 1952 and 1959. Israr , played 40 first-class games, taking 114 wickets at 22.63 and scoring 1130 runs at 20.54.

Seven killed, 15 injured in Lahore blast LAHORE: A powerful explosion in an upscale shopping area of Lahore killed at least seven people and left more than 15 others injured on Thursday, Samaa reported. According to initial reports, the blast occurred outside a restaurant in a shopping plaza in Defence Block-Z. The blast in the busy market was so powerful that it damaged a portion of the building and shattered windowpanes of several nearby buildings. Shops and vehicles parked near the plaza were also affected. Rescue teams and police rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to hospitals where medics confirmed that seven people have died.
